The Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry backs the stand of the European Union voiced by the EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana relating the developments in Chisinau and it calls on all the sides involved in the actions in the Republic of Moldova not to respond to violence and provocations, the ministry said in a press release on Tuesday.
The Foreign Ministry draws attention that the violence against the state institutions cannot be condoned and underscores it is very important to respect the inalienable rights to the citizens' free meeting and to peaceful protests. The ministry also points out that the respect for the principle of the state of law is equally important, at the same time with the respect of the human rights.
