The Romanian public television TVR correspondent in Chisinau Doru Dendiu, who had been arrested in the Republic of Moldova capital on Friday at noon was released by the Chisinau authorities.
Dendiu was questioned by Chisinau police, according to representatives of the TVR press office, who had been unable to contact the journalist for several hours. The TVR officials said they had last spoken to Dendiu at about 1 p.m., when he said he had to go to Chisinau police for questioning. Later on, he could not be contacted, as his phone was shut.
He was to broadcast a material about the events in the Republic of Moldova at the TVR News at 2 p.m., but he failed to turn up at the site wherefrom he should have broadcast the news. The TVR on Friday 'categorically' rejected any accusation made by the Chisinau officials regarding alleged fomenting by TVR of the protests in the Moldovan capital.
