Agricultural census, completed in proportion of almost 99pct
Data collectors have completed, since the start of the collection of statistical data on the ground for the General Agricultural Census / RGA /, 98.77 percent of the statistical questionnaires estimated to be registered, the National Institute of Statistics / INS / informed on Friday.
In seven counties data recording ia already completed – Arad, Bacau, Brasov, Constanta, Dolj, Prahova and Vaslui, and in some other 17 counties statistical data registration is higher than the national average, Vrancea – 99.89 percent of the questionnaires expected to be recorded, Calarasi – 99.67 percent and Valcea County – 99.59 percent.
The General Agricultural Census (GAC), first held in Romania after the country’s accession to the European Union, began on December 2, with field data gathering by the the Census office staff, based on statements by those involved in agricultural activities. All information obtained on the ground, between December 2, 2010 to January 31, 2011, will be confidential and used only for statistical purposes.
Data are collected face to face by survey interviewers for unincorporated farms, and through self registration, under the guidance of Census Chief coordinators in units with legal personality, with a number of 30,000 Census collectors, 5000 Census Chief coordinators, 3,250 coordinators and 140 control survey managers being involved in this activity.
