US President George Bush on Wednesday said that his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin has to understand that the anti-missile shield is mainly directed against some regimes in the Middle East.
Bush underscored there were issues over which he could not agree with Vladimir Putin but also aspect in which they have to cooperate.

He underscored that he understood Russia's concerns as regards NATO's enlargement, adding that Russia was also concerned about Romania's accession to the Alliance and now Romania is a reliable partner, Bush said. The American President said he did not mind having a direct discussion with President Putin, in order to find out his opinions and to see if they could agree on things, Bush said.
