US President George W. Bush on Wednesday told his Romanian counterpart Traian Basescu that he asked Congress to streamline the visa granting process to Romanian citizens.
According to the US President, one of the benefits of (Traian Basescu – Ed. note) being his friend is that he does not fear to speak his mind. (…) Therefore, George W. Bush assured President Basescu that they will have the best possible cooperation to sort out this issue.
Bush explained that he understands Romania's frustration with this subject, as Romanian troops share the burden of military missions in Iraq with their American peers.
Traian Basescu added that the bilateral necessary mechanism will be activated within short.
