The value of the Israeli investments in Romania is estimated at about two billion euros, said commercial attaché of Israeli’s Embassy in Bucharest Yifat Inbar on April 9.
Over 1,143 Israeli companies were registered last year alone, the total number amounting to more than 5,100, added the commercial attaché, who attended the second Romania-Israel Hi-Tech Forum.
The current forum brought together the representatives of 17 Israeli IT&C companies.
According to vice-president of Romania’s Chamber of Commence and Industry Jose Iacobescu, the trade exchanges between the two countries grew more than ten times in 17 years, from 32 million dollars in 1990 to about 400 million dollars at the end of 2007.About 20 percent of the bilateral trade refers to the IT&C field as the specific market in Israel registers the highest development rate in all the fields of activity, said Yifat Inbar.
The cooperation in IT&C between the two countries materialized in some joint partnerships between the Israeli companies and the Romanian ones being concluded but also in new technologies being introduced by the Israeli companies at world level. In the opinion of the Israeli representatives, the Romanian IT&C market is particularly attractive and has an immense development potential.
