The occupancy rate of Ramada Plaza’s four-star hotel in Bucharest reached 100 percent during several business fairs this March and the NATO summit early this month, informs Business Standard newspaper on April 16.
"As we had estimated on March 1, business tourism makes up a significant portion of Ramada Plaza’s operations," said Ramada Plaza Romania’s general manager Daniel Ben Yehuda. Some 80 percent of its clients were foreigners, and the average price for a room is 110 euros, he added.
The 300-room Ramada Plaza opened last month, following an investment worth 15 million euros, and the hotel includes conference and fitness centres. At its inauguration, hotel officials were estimating an average 50-60 percent occupancy rate for 2008 and some 5 million euros in turnover.
