Holcim Romania will be investing approximately 1 million euro in 2008 in career and personal development programmes for its staff, for the eight consecutive year.
The amount budgeted for this purpose in 2008 is 20 percent larger than the 2007 figures, the company reports.
Staff improvement expenses also take into account continual staff evolution under complex leadership and management programmes, as well as under specific communication, presentation, negotiation, time and priority management, foreign language and technical skills courses.
Developing leadership skills is one of the top priorities of the Holcim Group, and it intends to achieve this objective by cultivating the skills of company’s leaders to inspire colleagues and business partners, motivate them and support them in achieving ambitious goals.
"The training and development budget is an important indicator for Holcim Romania because it reflects the preoccupation of the company with human resources quality, and we believe access to such training activities should be guaranteed for each employee. Over the past five years, the funds allocated for training and development projects have increased progressively, to almost 1 million euro in 2008," says Holcim Romania General Manager Markus Wirth.
Holcim Romania is expecting to open some 100 jobs in all its activity fields, particularly the technical and financial fields, sales and marketing. At the same time, the company intends to draw in young candidates with potentials, ambition and motivation.
