Some 317,000 farmers have received the European subsidies due for 2007, with the payment vaue accounting for almost 63 million euros, according to data supplied on Tuesday by the Agency for Payment and Intervention inAgriculture (APIA).
Out of the total payment made by APIA so far, 39.17 million euros is financial support granted by the European Agriculture Guidance and Guarantee Fund (FEGA) , 9,87 million euros come from the European Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development (FEADR) while 13.58 million euro come from the national budget – Direct Complementary Payment (PNDC).
According to the APIA, funds worth 4.46 million euros for the payment of 19,411 farmers have also been requested from the MADR.
'The APIA continues to authorize and make payments, despite the Easter holiday. Our experts have made checking, authorized files and issued payment orders so that we can observe our schedule and make the due payments by end-May,' APIA general manager Dan Gherghelas said.
