The sales of Dacia cars at global level were of 83,917 units in the first four months of 2008, up 31.1 percent as against the same period in 2007(63,994), registering the most important dynamic of Renault’s group which had a general growth of 6.9 percent according to figures carried on Friday by the French car maker.
Dacia’s sales of automobiles increased 29.2 percent reaching 78,816 units and the number of sold utility vehicles (Logan Van and Pickup) reached 5,101 units, accounting for 71.7 percent.
In April 2008, Dacia sales grew 17.1 percent at global level respectively 17.9 percent for cars and 6.2 percent for utility vehicles, standing at 21,393 units, of which 20,083 cars. In Europe, Dacia sales increased in April by 34.3 percent.
In April, the sales of Renault worldwide grew 7.5 percent and Renault Samsung Motors grew 6.6 percent.
In the first four months, Renault group sold, under the three brands of the portfolio – Renault, Dacia and Renault Samsung Motors – as many and 866,332 vehicles, up 6.9 percent over the same period one year ago.
The group’s car sales grew 8.5 percent, reaching 734,314 units and the volume of sold light ccommercial vehicles went down 1.1 percentage points to 132,018 units.
In April 2008, Renault group sold 228,146 cars, up 8.3 percent as against the same period last year. The car sales grew 10.2 percent, to 195,665 units and utility vehicles decreased 1.8 percent to 32,481.
