The Premier's adviser on national security questions, Marius Oprea, informed on Tuesday of the finalization of the draft law according to which the pensions of the former communist party activists and Securitate officers would be lowered to the minimum level nationwide.
This announcement was made in the context of the launch of Constantin Ticu Dumitrescu's first books included in the cycle "Evidence and Document" at the headquarters of the Romanian Cultural Institute.
'In my capacity as president of the Institute for Investigating the Crimes of Communism I have finalized a draft law, which I think is a step towards doing justice. A draft law by means of which the pensions of the former communist party activists and Securitate officers who committed abuses against you will be lowered to the minimum level nationwide,' Marius Oprea told the members of the Association of Former Political Prisoners in Romania (AFDPR) participating in the above-mentioned event.
Marius Oprea assured that he would offer his entire support to AFDPR president Ticu Dumitrescu to bring the trial of communism to an end.
"If it had not been for Ticu Dumitrescu we should have done nothing of what we have done so far. I shall also be by his side all the time for helping this trial of communism come to an end" said Oprea.
