Maker of wall and floor tiles Alfa Ceramic estimates a more-than-twice rise in turnover in Romania, in 2008, after the opening this year of two stores, general manager of the local representation office Walla Hanafi said on May 21.
According to him, last year, the company distributed, in Romania, some 65,000 sq m of tiles monthly, through intermediates, its turnover stood at three million euros.
"We expect business to rise this year to seven million euros, and sales to increase 250%", Hanafi said.

The company opened two months ago its first store in Bucharest, in Militari neighborhood, it intends to open in a week from now one more in Mihai Bravu.
"The Romanian market of such products is the second most important, after Russia, it stands at some 45 million sq m," Hanafi also said.
According to him, the products coming from the factory in Egypt have the best value for money in the Romanian market, as the technology used is similar with that of the other makers, but labour in Egypt is very cheap.
