Professional and inter-professional organizations in the farming sector can submit, until Nov. 30, 2008, proposals of programs of information and promotion of agricultural products on the domestic market, according to data published on the site of the Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA).
The actions of information and promotion regard farm produce and their production methods, as well as foods on the basis of farm produce, irrespective of brands, and without encouraging the consumption of a product due to its specific origin.
"The origin of a product is not the object of the actions, but it can be indicated when it is a name given in line with the EU legislation," according to APIA.
The sectors and products concerned, the requirements related to program proposals, the financing conditions as well as the assessment and selection criteria are set in the task book regarding information and promotion programs for farm produce in the domestic market.
The organizations interested will send the program proposals to the Ministry f Agriculture and Rural Development, in the terms and conditions in the task book, the deadline is Nov. 30, 2008.
The program proposals pre-selected at national level will be sent to the European Commission until Feb. 15, 2009, for evaluation and final selection, the Commission will decide on June 30, 2009, at the latest, which are the programs it can co-finance.
