CNP – Industry to number by 3.6% less manpower in Q3

The average number of the industry employees is expected to attain about 1.526 million people in the third quarter of 2008, by 3.6% less than over the same time span in 2007, reads the conjectural survey for the Q3, made public by the National Prognosis Commission (CNP).
The number of employees will considerably dwindle in fields such as leather and footwear (16%), ready-mades, iron ore extraction and treatment (12.5%).

The number of employees is expected to drop by 3.4% during the first nine months of the year, whereas their average number will be by round 56,000 people smaller over April- June 2008 than in Q2 of 2007.
The production capacities are expected to rank by 82% higher in the Q3 of 2008 than that both registered in the Q2 and over the same time span in 2007, said the economic agents responding the survey.
