Gov’t earmarks funds for flood-stricken infrastructure

The Government decided on Aug. 27 the allotment of 100 million lei from the budget for the recovery of the transport infrastructure, PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu announced upon the government's meeting.
The funds will be earmarked for the recovery of county roads, bridges, foot bridges, sewerage networks, said the prime minister.
''The sum which we approved today for recovery is of 100 million lei and the allotment will be made depending on priorities established at local level'' said the head of the government.
According to Tariceanu, the counties that will be earmarked these sums are those hit by flooding in July: Suceava (north-eastern Romania), Neamt (north-east), Botosani (north-east), Maramures (north), Harghita (center).
