Industrial production expected grow 6% this year

The industrial production could grow by 6% this year and it is expected to drop slightly, namely to 5.9%, in 2009, BCR Macroeconomic Analysis reads.
The industrial production grew by 5.4% in 2007.

The National Prognosis Commission predicts that industrial production will grow by 6.1% during the first nine months of the year compared with the same time span last year, based on the advance of 27.5% in the radio, TV, communication equipment sector and on the increase by 20.5% in the road transportation means.
The industrial production grew by 5.9% in the first half of the year.
Substantial drops were registered after the first half of the year as follows textile products – minus 15.5%, electric machines and appliances – minus 9.1%, paper, pulp and paper products, minus 7.8% and iron and steel, minus 6.7%.
