PM Calin Popescu-Tariceanu said, on Wednesday (Sept 17) in the opening of a Conference for presenting a Report on meeting the commitments in the governing programme assumed in 2004, that 95% of the 930 commitments have been met.
The report, made by the government, and called "European integration – economic growth, welfare" numbers 600 pages and was made on the basis of a serious and rigorous evaluation, which also counts thousands of pages, mentioned the premier. "There is no field without basic changes", Tariceanu said.
According to him, Romania has reported the highest growth in GDP in Europe, the Government has made efforts to increase the living standards, through rises in salaries and, to say nothing of the doubling of pensions, of those in the public system and of those of farmers alike, of the rise in the minimum wages. At the conference, expected to take the floor are the prime minister and minister of Economy and Finance Varujan Vosganian. The other members of the Government are present.
