Hotel market in Bucharest is dominated by four and five-star hotels, they account for over 70% of the capacity available in the market, reads a study of real estate company Atisreal. Four and five-starred hotels in Bucharest count together 7,396 rooms, among the biggest units present in the upper segment of the market, there are Radison SAS, Marriott, Hilton, Howard Johnson, Intercontinental and Crowne Plaza.
Accommodation capacity on the 4 star segment considerably increased this year, when Rin Grand hotel was opened, with 1,500 rooms, the four-star segment also numbers hotels such as Sofitel, Phoenicia, or units of Ramada brand. Over 50% of the four and five-starred hotels in Bucharest are located in district one. The relatively high number of luxury hotels in Bucharest is due to business tourism.
