European commissioner for multilingualism Leonard Orban pays visit to Romania

European Commissioner for Multilingualism, Leonard Orban, the European commissioner representing Romania, paid a visit to Romania over September 15-16, 2008, reads a release of the European Commission Representative Office in Bucharest.
During the visit, the European official met with President Traian Basescu, with PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu and with a range of representatives of Romanian authorities and of the media.

Commissioner Orban attended a roundtable meeting called ‘’Enforcement of Action Plan on Lisbon Agenda.’’
The programme of the European official encompassed participation in the opening of 2008/2009 school year at Ion Luca Caragiale High School of Bucharest, where he approached the issue of multilingualism with teachers and students alike.
