Romania to benefit from European funds worth 1.5 billion euros in 2008

Romania will benefit from 1.5 billion euros worth of European funds in 2008, said on September 16 Secretary of State at the Ministry of Economy and Finance Eugen Teodorovici.

„The European financing for the projects in 2008 amounted to 2.8-2.9 billion euros, and the national contribution to 1.3 billion euros,” the state secretary said.
So far, European funds worth two billion euros have entered Romania, according to Teodorovici.
ISPA funds amounted to over 300 million euros in 2008.
„Over 3,200 projects were submitted until August, and the main areas where the European funds will go are environment infrastructure and transport”, Teodorovici also said.
