DuPont Co. recorded a jump in sales of 44% in the first half of 2008 compared to the similar period of last year, according to data provided by the company.
“Since 2006, when we have opened the office in Bucharest, up to now, sales doubled. Such a dynamic surge will allow us to double sales in the two years to come, under conditions in which the first 6 months of 2008 showed a rise of 44% in sales”, said Thierry Marin, Regional Manager DuPont for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
DuPont is present in Romania, for more than 30 years, with innovating solutions, materials and technologies used to the greatest extent by top industries, including agriculture, auto industry, oil and constructions. “Central and Eastern Europe represents a critical zone for our growth given our expansion in order to cover the market”, said Ian Hudson, DuPont President for EMEA.
DuPont already holds the leading position in the field of car body dyes in Romania, being present on the market with all its 3 brands. The company has 400 clients all over the country. DuPont is to boost its offer of alternatives in the construction sector, as well.
At the same time, the company gained recognition in Romania due to its developments in the field of agriculture. One of the biggest DuPont investments in Central Europe, of 26 million dollars, is in Ganeasa, close to Bucharest, representing one of the most advanced production facility of corn and sunflower in the world. Alongside seeds, DuPont offer for agriculture also includes a large range of crop protection products.
