The international reserves of Romania (hard currency plus gold) stood, on April 30, 2009, at 27,113 billion euros, by 313 million euros under the level at the end of March, when they stood at 27.426 billion euros, said Romania’s Central Bank (BNR).
The hard currency reserves at BNR amounted to 24.886 billion euros, compared with 25.121 on March 31, 2009.
In April, inflows worth 3.547 billion euros took place, representing the modification of the minimum hard currency reserves made by the crediting institutions, the inflows in the account of the Ministry of Public Finance, the inflows in the account of the European Commission, revenues from the administration of the international reserves, operations on the interbank market, and such like.
Outflows worth 3.782 billion euros took place, representing the modification of the minimum reserves in hard currency made by the crediting institutions, payments in the account of the European Commission, payments of installments and interests related to the direct foreign public debt guaranteed by the state, operations in the inter-banking market.
The gold reserve stayed at 103.7 tonnes. In the conditions of the evolution of the international prices, their value stood at 2.227 billion euros.
The payments falling due in May 2009, in the account of the foreign public debt, direct or guaranteed by the Ministry of Public Finance, stand at 146 million euros.
