Communications minister pays working visit to UK
The Minister of Communications and Information Society, Gabriel Sandu, is paying a working visit to the UK, over May 6-8, at the invitation of British communications minister, Stephen Andrew Carter, baron Carter of Barnes.
The main goal of the visit is to establish concrete ways of collaboration in the field of communications and information society.
On Thursday Gabriel Sandu will participate in a presentation held by Andrew Scott, deputy director with the British Chancellery called ‘E-Governance in UK’and later on he is to meet with the British communications minister.
The Romanian official will participate on Thursday in a meeting with representatives of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development and with Peter Reiniger, director Business Group and Michelle Senecal de Fonesca, telecommunications director.
On Friday, May 8, the delegation of the Ministry of communications and information society will hold talks with representatives of the Department on Labour and Pensions, David Matthewmen, Paul Kilner and Jim Purves, about the secured intranet system for governmental communications (Gateway) and governmental portals DirectGov and Business Link.
