Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Cristian Diaconescu is meeting on Friday, on the second day of the visit he is paying to Washington, with the American counterpart Hillary Clinton.
This is the first meeting of a Romanian official with representatives of the new US Administration.
Chief of Romanian diplomacy is paying these days a visit to the United States of America in order to prepare the meetings President Traian Basescu is going to have at the White House.
ForMin Diaconescu’s talks agenda in Washington includes subjects linked to the cooperation in operation theaters in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as priority aspects of the bilateral relation, with accent on the strengthening of the economic component of the bilateral strategic partnership.
The visit is also an occasion for an ample exchange of views on joint interest items on the international agenda, with special attention to be paid to the evolutions in the Black Sea enlarged zone.
