Decree on accreditation of Romania’s new ambassador to Denmark

President Traian Basescu on Wednesday signed the decree on the accreditation of Alexandru Victor Micula as ambassador of Romania to the Kingdom of Demark and the Republic of Iceland, the presidential administration informs in a realese sent to Secretary general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) Victor Micula received on March 3 the favourable approval from the Parliament’s reunited committees on foreign policy for the position of Ambassador of Romania to Demark and Iceland.

Victor Micula was born on August 26, 1966 in Oradea (west). He graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies of Bucharest, the Faculty of Industrial Economy, Constructions and Transport. He studied at the European Centre for Security Studies ‘George C. Marshall’, Economy of Defense, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.

He stood out as general state secretary of the Foreign Affairs Ministry. Previously, over February-June 2007 he was general manager for strategic policies in the central of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and between 2002 and 2007 he was extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Argentina and the Republic of Paraguay (as of June 2004 – diplomatic councillor).

In 2001 Victor Micula was the director of the Cabinet of the foreign affairs minister and spokesperson for the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
Victor Micula fluently speaks Spanish and English and has basic knowledge of Hungarian.
