Bank Leumi Romania posts 1-milllion euro profit in Q1 of 2009

Bank Leumi Romania in the first three months of 2009 reported a profit of 3.96 million lei (1 euro=4. 15 lei) up 67 percent against the same period of 2008 when the bank’s profit stood at 2.37 million lei.

This is a natural evolution, following a net turnover of 7.47 million lei, reads a bank release.

In the Q1 of 2009 the total assets of Bank Leumi Romania stood at 1.349 billion lei, against 1.108 billion lei on March 31, 2008. Moreover, the lending volume went up to 974 million lei, against 711 million lei at the end of Q1 of 2008.

In the aforementioned period the bank launched a series of products for its retail customers.

Leumi Romania is the only bank in Romanian with Israeli capital, providing a wide range of financial and banking services for both individuals and companies through the means of its specially structured divisions. It has nine branches in Bucharest, 29 outside the capital city and one in Sifia, Bulgaruia.
