PM Emil Boc on Wednesday at the Parliament Palace said that the rejection of the no-confidence motion ‘The great PDL-PSD hoax,’ signed by lawmakers of the National Liberal Party and the Hungarian Democratic Union of Hungarian in Romania, both in opposition, is a vote of confidence for the current Government.
‘This is a vote of confidence for the Government, a vote of confidence to carry on the investment and job creation policy. I believe this is the most important message of this motion – a vote of confidence from Parliament, in support of what the Government has been doing, to overcome the economic crisis together,’ the PM said after the result of the voting – 278 votes against it and 130 in its favor – was made public.
The vote is, in the PM’s opinion, a confirmation of the fact that there are positive signs in the Romanian economy, such as the stabilization of the exchange rate, a decrease in the Central Bank’s benchmark, an increase in budget revenues and foreign investment.
‘The crisis is not over, but the measures we take help economy and Romanians keep their jobs and have revenues to pay back loans; the foreign loan from the European Commission and the IMF assures us that the money are allotted to investment aimed to help preserving jobs,’ Boc said.
Emil Boc has pointed out that the Govt will carry on the ‘aggressive ‘ investment program in infrastructure to help people keep their jobs and will allot a package of government guarantees and state aid to strategic sectors of the Romanian economy such as agriculture and supporting young people to purchase houses.
