Employees from Dacia carmaker to work every Saturday till end-July
The Dacia car plant (based in Pitesti – southern Romania) is going to have its employees working every Saturday till the end of July, 2009, in two shifts, reads a release of the company.
On Saturday, May 16, the working day at the Dacia plant will be divided even into three shifts, so that the company to be able to feed the orders and also to allow suppliers adapt to the new working schedule.
The decision was taken on the occasion of a monthly meeting of the Dacia Vehicle Plant managers and the Autoturisme Dacia Trade Union, on May 12.
There were 18,384 Dacia cars registered in April 2009 in Romania, a growth by 137.6 percent compared with the same interval a year before, when there were registered 7,737 units.
The carmaker’s market share increased from 0.6 up to 1.6 percent.
There were registered 49,855 Dacia cars in 25 European states (there were no registrations of Dacia cars in Cyprus and Malta) and in 3 EFTA states (Iceland, Norway and Switzerland) in January through April this year, that is a growth by 52.7 percent compared with January-April 2008 (32,641 units).
