British electro-pop group Depeche Mode has canceled its concert in Bucharest, that was to take place in the Izvor Park on Saturday, May 16, and three other concerts in Eastern Europe, after lead singer Dave Gahan fell ill ahead of a show in Athens, reads a release of the Emagic Entertainment, the organizer of the show in Romania.
‘Depeche Mode has officially announced they will not perform in Bucharest on Saturday, as it was programmed in their ‘Tour of the Universe’, following the concert to be most probably rescheduled’ says Emagic.
‘We are very sorry the band would not be able to perform in Bucharest as scheduled and we only hope Dave would recover very soon. This is difficult time for everybody, for the members of the band especially and for the fans, but we know that the fans of Depeche Mode in Romania will understand the situation and will support Dave and the band.
We are currently discussing with an agent of the Depeche tour to reschedule the event in Bucharest,’ Emagic’s executive manager Laura Coroianu said.
The British band was to perform for the second time in Romania, after the concert from back in 2006, when the band enjoyed the presence of more than 40,000 fans.
