Until now, companies making such acquisitions were paying the VAT every three months, but ANAF made a proposal to the Government to implement this new measure aimed at breaking such networks specialized in fraud in the VAT field, the head of the Fiscal Agency told a press conference on Monday.
The ANAF Chairman underlined that frauds in the VAT field involving intra-Community trade all over Europe has reached an alarming level.
‘We face a real problem related to the VAT-related forgery European wide. There already exist such specialized networks in Romania too.’
In the first four months of the year, the Financial Guard (GF) has monitored 13,680 intra¬Community operations, with all-points bulletins having been issued for 214 economic operators, for they disappeared, the deputy general commissioner of GF Gabriel Carbunaru specified, also adding that the losses exceed 134 million lei (some 31.59 million euros).
