Basescu is to meet with Chairman of the French National Assembly, Bernard Accoyer, he will be received afterwards at Elysee Palace with military honours by the French Republican Guard.
Following on the visit’s agenda is a working luncheon offered by French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
In the afternoon, Romania’s President will hold talks with Secretary General of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, Angel Gurria and later in the day he will meet with French PM Francois Fillon.
The last meeting of Monday will be with representatives of the Romanian community at Romania’s Embassy in Paris.
In the second day of the visit to France, President Traian Basescu will visit the nuclear power plant in Flamanville.
The official delegation includes Foreign Affairs Minister Cristian Diaconescu, Economy Minister Adriean Videanu, Transport Minister Radu Berceanu and Tourism Minister Elena Udrea.
