Gov’t has to use all the levers available to it in order to support the fields in which Romania has competitive advantages compared with other countries, said, on Wednesday, PM Emil Boc.
„It is the role of the government to use the levers at its disposal, such as state aid, governmental guarantees, in order to back up the fields in which Romania has competitive advantages compared with other countries, fields such as farming, energy, constructions and tourism. They are fields of the economy where Romania has competitive advantages and the government has to promote them, said Emil Boc.
The head of government stressed that the agreement concluded with the International Monetary Fund and the European Commission has a preventive role, with its purpose being to limit the negative effects of the economic crisis in Romania and to prepare the economic relaunch.
„This agreement, which comes to be a model for other countries, has two major objectives, namely a relaunch of crediting and the keeping of crediting, and secondly, the keeping of a reasonable and balanced rate of exchange between the Romanian leu currency and the euro, ” explained Boc, adding that for that, 13 billion euros from the 20 billion of the agreement go directly to the Central Bank, to consolidate its resources.
