Report on Army procurement, presented in CSAT

A Report on the Army procurement activities was presented on Thursday to the members of the Upper Council of Country’s Defence (CSAT) by head of the General Staff Admiral Gheorghe Marin, the Presidential Administration informed.
Attending the meeting were President Traian Basescu, Senate’s Chairman Mircea Geoana, Premier Emil Boc, Minister of Administration and Interior Dan Nica, Minister of National Defence Mihai Stanisoara, Minister of Foreign Affairs Cristian Diaconescu, Minister of Justice and Citizens Freedoms Catalin Predoiu, Minister of Public Finance Gheorghe Pogea, director of Intelligence Service George Cristian Maior, director of Foreign Intelligence Service Mihai-Razvan Ungureanu, Presidential adviser for national security Iulian Fota, CSAT secretary Lieutenant General Ion Oprisor and Romania’s President spokesperson Valeriu Turcan.
CSAT meeting, held at Cotroceni Presidential Palace, lasted more than two hours.
At the end of April, CSAT adopted the Army Procurement Strategy, but it postponed the approval of the procurement and appropriations plan for a subsequent meeting.
The strategy established the objectives and priorities on medium and long-term in this field and represents the basis for the elaboration of the procurement plan and of the multi-annual programmes.
