The stage of the relations of Romania with the Republic of Moldova and the positioning of Romania in the current context with the Republic of Moldova was the main topic of a debate having taken place late on Thursday, at Titulescu European Foundation, on „Republic of Moldova – before and after the election.”
The talks showed the necessity of a strategy in the relations with the Republic of Moldova, as well as to the involvement of the political class, for responsibility not to be involved involved on an institutional plane.
Those present also stressed the need of the involvement of Romania in the relations with the Republic of Moldova, in its capacity as member of the European Union and of the North-Atlantic Alliance, a status with important valance on a regional plane.
The participants in the debate also considered the possibility of the possibility of early election, and stressed that Romania has to be close to this country on the road of its European integration. Those present also stressed the necessity of an institutional effort at the level of the political parties, who have to talk about their own views in the relations with the Romanian-Moldovan links.
In that context, talked were the need of permeability of the frontiers, from the perspective of Moldova coming close to the European values, as well as the development of a complementary relation with the Russian Federation, and not „the irritation of that country of „Bucharest-London¬Washington axis.
Last, but not least, the participants in the debate remarked that, of late, Romania can see a translation of the area of frontier in the perspective of Moldova getting closer to the European values, as well as the development of a complementary relationship with the Republic of Moldova, and not „the irritation of that country by political declarations of the kind „Bucharest-London-Washington” axis.
Last, but not least, the participants in the debate noticed that, of late, we can see a translation of the West-Northern Russia frontier area, from the Dniester to the Prut, with this maybe, the strategic stake of a context not favourable to Romania, in which „some have been trapped”
Participating in the talks there were President of Titulescu European Foundation Adrian Nastase, vice-president of the Chamber of Deputies Adrian Nastase, head of the Committee for foreign policy in the Senate Titus Corlatean, politicians, analysts, representatives of the civil society.
