Corlatean-Bjorkman meeting

Chairman of Romania’s Senate’s Committee on Foreign Affairs Titus Corlatean on Monday welcomed a Swedish parliamentarian delegation headed by First Deputy Chairman of Sweden’s Parliament Jan Bjorkman.
Discussed at the meeting were the latest developments in the bilateral relationship between Romania and Sweden, including parliamentary cooperation, and the current political, economic and financial state.
An important topic of the meeting were the priorities of the rotating six-month presidency of the European Union, to be held by Sweden in the second half of 2009. The two offcials agreed to keep in close contact for the time Sweden holds the EU presidency.
The June 7 European election, this autumn’s presidential election in Romania and the situation in the Republic of Moldova were also discussed.
