Delta Air Lines and Air France launch Bucharest-New York flight

Delta Air Lines and Air France will introduce a direct flight to link the Henri Coanda airport based in Bucharest with the JFK airport in New York, with this to be the single direct flight available between the two airports, reads a release of the two airlines.
The direct flights between the two destinations, operated by Delta Air Lines, are part of a Joint Venture agreement between Delta and Air France – KLM.
Passengers might benefit of special offers from Delta and Air France, at economy class, with the return ticket to cost 497.94 euros, all taxes included, if they buy the ticket before June 9, 2009, with the flight to be scheduled somewhere between June 2 and 30.
Passengers who want to fly at the Business Elite class, Delta offers a special price of 2192.94 euros, all taxes included, for flights between June 2 and September 30, 2009. This offer will stay valid till June 9, with the flight to last at least one week and with the tickets to be bought 14 days before.
‘These special offers represent a great opportunity for passengers wanting to travel with the single non-stop flight between Romania and the United States during the summer,’ Corina Enciu, Delta commercial manager in Romania said.
‘New York represents an important destination for all our families, as they can take flights from New York for more than 40 destinations in the United States, Canada, Latin America and Carribean Islands.’
The flights will be available for booking at the tourism agencies, Delta and Air France or online at delta.com and airfrance.ro.
The Air France KLM group includes a holding and two airlines that kept their identity. Together they serve a large global network structured around the hubs from Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schipol.
Currently, the Group has more than 100,000 employees and carried 74 million passengers on an annual basis, to 249 destinations worldwide, and also operated a fleet of 621 airplanes. The Group appears to tank 2st in terms of turnover worldwide, with 23.97 billion euros in IATA 2008/2009.
Air France and KLM are members of the SkyTeam Alliance, which services are available worldwide. Air France was set up in 1933, KLM in 1919.
Delta Air Lines is the largest airline worldwide offering flights to 368 destinations in 66 countries and serving more than 170 million passengers every year.
