Health Minister calls on people not to panic

Health Minister Ion Bazac has said that no supplementary measures have been taken for the swine flu virus case confirmed in Romania, as these measures were already installed a month ago, the same as the alert system, according to the World health Organization recommendations.
As regards the 30-year-old woman and her two children who were treated for the new H1N1 flu virus after she had arrived from New York last week, she had had contacts with 40 people, Romanians included, whom she was in the plane with and then during the stop in Paris. The Romanian travelers have been identified and will undergo medical investigation.
Bazac has said that people should not panic because the disease spreads only through close contact, but he insisted for the hygiene measures to be observed.
In case of pandemic, there is a plan of measures that will be activated, the minister said.
