Bucharest hosts PABSEC plenary session

Romania will host between June 11-13, the 33rd plenary session of the General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC).
According to a Friday release to Agerpres, the works will be chaired by Chamber of Deputies’ Speaker Roberta Anastase, who currently holds the PABSEC presidency.
President Traian Basescu is expecte to attend the opening of the works.
The theme of the debates during the PABSEC session in Bucharest is „Strategies and policies to mitigate the consequences of the economic and financial crisis in member states of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization.”

The MPs will also discuss a series of reports on the development of maritime transport in the Black Sea region, legal and socio-cultural aspects related to migration in the region and will adopt a series of recommendations worked out by the Assembly expert committees.
It is the fourth time, since the establishment of the organization, that the Parliament of Romania holds the PABSEC presidency, in keeping with the principle of rotation among member states.
Expected at the event are delegations of national parliaments of PABSEC member states, BSECO members of Parliament, representatives of the Council of the European Union, of the Government, international parliamentary organizations, diplomats, experts.
