Of the total sum to the state budget, 1.7 billion lei (about 404 million euros) are excises.
Petrom’s contribution to the state budget accounted for 12 percent of the total budget revenues, according to the estimates made by the above-mentioned company on the basis of the data published in May.
The profitability rate in the first six months of 2009 (profit-turnover) was 16 percent as compared with 20 percent in the first six months of 2008.
Petrom posted a net turnover amounting to 5.926 billion lei (about 1.41 billion euros) in the first six months of 2009, down by 28 percent as against the one posted in the same time span in 2008, according to the information supplied by the company to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
Petrom investments, which also include the increase in the company’s shareholding, amounted to 2.038 billion lei (about 485 million euros) in the first six months of 2009, down by 40 percent as against the same span of time last year.
