‘We’ll continue the restructuring started in 2005, in 2009 as well. We haven’t planed to lay off a certain number of employees, there is no scheduled redundancy pace. It will happen based on the operational and the investments steps and depending on the efficiency,’ Company’s CEO Mariana Gheorghe said.
Petrom numbered 29,103 employees at end-June, 1,626 people were made redundant in the first quarter of the year and 2,582 in the second.
Petrom earned a net turnover worth 5.926 billion lei, namely about 1.41 billion euros in H1, 2009, buy 28 percent less than that in the same time span in 2008, read Petrom data sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB).
