The head of Government has held so far several talks with representatives of the ministries regarding the two topics.
During them, Emil Boc said that the Executive will have to assume responsibility in Parliament because the single pay law and that of the reform of the pension system „will put stress on the Romanian public system.”
„I believe that these laws, such as that of the single pay or the reform of the pension system can be approved by no other form than that of assuming responsibility, because they are laws that will put stress on the public system in Romania, and the Government either goes home, or approves these laws.
There is no other solution for these structural reforms to be carried out, and I, in my capacity as prime minister, say it frankly, either I go home, or we carry out these reforms necessary for Romania, regardless of the political cost they suppose,” said Boc after the Government meeting.
The prime minister also said tough measures are needed, they are necessary to Romania in this period, if they were postponed, that would lead to the decline of the state performance.
„I want to be very clear: the Government I represent does not take into account the political dimension of this year. The Government I represent has to serve only the interests of various categories of people in the budget system.
That is why we have to take measures, be they tougher, but necessary to Romania.
That is why the Government is resolute to assume the political responsibility for these measures, which it has to continue to carry out, because any postponement of these measure can only mean a decline of the performance of the state and the postponement of a decision that has to be taken by all means,” stressed Boc.
