VAE Apcarom’s profit surges 4.6 times in H1 2009

VAE Apcarom rolling stock manufacturer has reported an H1 2009 net profit of RON 7.84 million (nearly 1.86 million euros), up 4.6 times from H1 2007, according to data disclosed by the company to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB).

The company’s net business turnover stood at RON 45.335 million (nearly 10.79 million euros), up RON 2.532 million (more then 600,000 euros) from the first 6 months of 2008.
The Buzau-based company is controlled by Austria’s VAE Aktiengesellschaft, in turn controlled by Voestalpine.

The Voestalpine Group has been conducting business sin Romania since 2004, when Voestalpine Elmsteel, a UK subsidiary and a member of the components for the automotive industry department, opened a factory in Satu Mare.
