By 35 pct more tourists come to Bucovina

The occupancy level of the hotels and the pensions in Bucovina (northeastern Romania) has grown by 35 percent this year, compared to 2008, Suceava County Council’s president Gheorghe Flutur said on Thursday.

He stressed that Bucovina is an ever more sought-for zone, offering attractive vacation services. According to Flutur, the data the Suceava County’s travel operators supply, the occupancy degree of the County’s accommodation units poses for 85 percent in July and August, and for cent percent in weekends.

Flutur said it grew the number of the foreign tourists spending their holiday in Romania. Most of them come from Austria, Germany, France and Poland.

Suceava County Council’s president said that over 70,000 holidaymakers are expected at weekends, most of them, namely 50,000 are to go on pilgrimage to the Catholic and Orthodox worship places at Cacica and Putna, on the Assumption Day, like every year, and about 20,000 tourists are expected to come to Ciocanesti, to attend the National Festival of Trout and to Vatra Dornei where it is organised Dorna Extreme sports event.
