„The new pay grid observes first of all the principle according to which, to the time horizon stipulated by the agreement signed in 2008 by the trade union organizations and the Government, the minimum wage must account for half of the average one, by 2014”, explained Mocanu.
He added that already this principle on which the law is based leads to objective computation systems, to a certain inclusion of coefficients inside the grid.
„Maybe at first sight it will generate discontent, but it is important that at the moment when pay grid is implemented, when the pay will be well balanced in the case of all public sector employees, this will mean coherence.
Coefficients were reduced because this 50 percent was respected, namely that the minimum wage must account for 50 percent of the average one”, stressed Mocanu.
He added that in the future the wage increases will be adopted in the case of positions which currently have very low wage levels.
„It is important that we have established an equivalent on the horizontal, together with trade unions representatives and institutions included in this law draft. If mistakes occur, they could be corrected”, MMFPS official also added.
