„If we stick to the current economic policy and the current anti-crisis plan, we are in the position of risking much more difficult moments for the Romanian economy and society at the beginning of next year,” Mircea Geoana told a round-table conference with the businessmen in Cluj (central Romania) titled „Action Plan for Getting out of the Crisis” on Friday.
He added that, „unfortunately, despite the entire honest attempt of the current Government to respond to this massive crisis, the results are worrying.”
Geoana said that the current economic policy of the Government led to deepening the crisis, not to leaving it behind.
„The current economic policy we apply in Romania is unfortunately pro-cyclical in the sense of deepening the crisis, not getting out of the crisis.
Today we have no coherent enough plan meant to stimulate the economy, the governmental investments and, from the point of view of the real support to the business environment, things are almost dramatic,” said Mircea Geoana.
The PSD chairman thinks that businessmen must be consulted to a larger extent for an anti- crisis plan that „should be coherent and yield results.”
