The Premier visited the junction in Gilau on Transilvania motorway, on km. 50, where he stated that the works are within the schedule and the first 42 km. will become operational till this year-end.
„Currently we are assured that the 42 km. of Turda – Gilau motorway will be finalized till Romania’s National Day and Cluj inhabitants will be spared of the heavy traffic which has affected their lives for so many years”, said Boc.
Transport Minister Radu Berceanu added that so far almost 30 of the 42 km. of Turda-Gilau segment are already surfaced.
Transilvania motorway has a 415 km. length, connecting Brasov to Bors, and the platform is 26 m. wide. More than 55 km. of the total length are covered with bridges and viaducts.
Another objective visited by the Premier was Cluj-Napoca south-east ring road. The road is 25 km. long and its construction costs 125 million euros. Emil Boc gave assurances that this one will be also ready by this year-end, even though most likely not in the smallest detail.
PM Emil Boc also visited a third objective, Turda municipality ring road, for the ceremony of the cutting of the inaugural ribbon. This is a 5 km. long detour road, built at a cost of 7.5 million euros.
On the occasion of his visit to Cluj, PM Emil Boc said that by this year-end the economic downturn will be stopped and starting next year a slight recovery is expected.
