Public Finance Ministry sells benchmark bonds worth 301 million lei

Ministry of Public Finance (MFP) on Thursday issued benchmark state bonds due in over three years and drew on the market as many as 301.75 million lei (some 70.17 million euros) at an average yield of 10.24 percent a year and an average buy price of 102.5508 percent, according to figures sent by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).

Public Finance Ministry has rejected the buy offers submitted by commercial banks for the issue of benchmark bonds below 102.5174 percent.
The overall issue of state bonds stood at 850 million lei and the coupon rate stands at 11.25 percent.
The banks’ total bid stood at 1.38 billion lei. The nominal value of a benchmark bond is of 10,000 lei.

Submitting buy bids of T bonds were 13 primary dealers: Alpha Bank Romania, BRD – Groupe Societe Generale, Carpatica Commercial bank (BCC), Romanian Commercial Bank (BCR), Transilvania Bank, Bancpost, CEC Bank, Citibank Romania, ING, MKB Romexterra, Raiffeisen Bank, RBS Bank Romania and UniCredit Tiriac Bank.
