Gov’t meets Monday evening for informal talks on planned public sector salary law

The Romanian government will meet starting 7 p.m. on Monday for informal talks meant ‘to evaluate the latest scenario’ relating to the single pay for the public sector staff, in the joint commission, Economy Minister Adriean Videanu announced.

After the modifications are agreed at the meeting, the executive will consult the trade unions and employers on Tuesday, when the social partners and Prime Minister Emil Boc will examine the final form of the draft law before it can be approved.

The government plans to complete the draft law this week, so that it may take responsibility before Parliament on Sept. 2.
