According to it, Tarom will operate four direct flights a week, from Bucharest to Lyon, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, with departures from Bucharest, at local time 13:15, and arrivals in Lyon, at local time 15:00, and departures from Lyon, at local 16:00, ensuring them rapid connections to Lyon, via Bucharest.
„France has always been a traditional destination for the national transporter. Tarom operates direct flights to Paris as early as 1920, and we are proud that starting today, Lyon will enter our route network,” said Ruxandra Brutaru, Tarom general manager.
Tarom operates flights to three continents, offering more than 40 destinations in countries like Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East. The official transporter of Romania numbers today over 300 takeoffs weekly.
In 2008, Tarom transported over two million passengers, on regular and charter flights, registering a rise of three percent vs. the previous year.
Tarom signed in 2008, a pre-accession agreement with Sky Team and will become a member in this alliance from 2010. The Tarom passengers will have in this way access to a global system offering over 16,000 daily flights to 905 destinations from 169 countries.
Airfrance has been designated the Tarom sponsor in the process of accession to the Sky Team Alliance.
