Minister Puscas: Supporting European values and interests are important to Romania
In a press release issued on Thursday, Puscas says that the most important thing for Romania to do now is to support, besides the other member states of the European Union, the European values and interests, by conjugating the Romanian efforts with the European Economic Recovery Plan, which is meant to diminish the effects of the ongoing economic and financial crisis and that will function first of all to the interest of the European citizens.
‘We have to use both the will and diplomacy specific of the European Union to cope with the current problems, such as global recession and climate change.
Romania and Europe today have to switch to an economy that will first of all be grounded in efficiency and energy security,’ says Puscas, adding that the ambitious plan of European Commission’s President Jose Manuel Barroso have to be implemented as soon as possible so as to avoid the era of Europe’s decline.
Another important element in the partnership of the European Commission president supported by Puscas is the revision of the current Lisbon Strategy for after 2010 that will offer the national governments of the member states, the citizens and the European institutions a medium and long-term vision of the EU developments in the context of a needed internal modernisation and post- crisis developments.
